Slip into something a shade darker, and enjoy it with Nu Metro in style…
We can confirm that we will be screening Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the runaway box office hit, Fifty Shades of Grey, at special pre-release screenings on Wednesday, 8 February and Thursday, 9 February 2017—ahead of the film’s international release date.
Nu Metro broke sales records and had attendance bursting at the seams, when we did similar screenings of the first film in this erotic-drama franchise two years ago. Ticket sales for our “ladies only” Girls’ Night Out screenings of the movie on Tuesday, 7 February 2017 have already reached sold-out status for most cinema complexes nationwide, two weeks before the event is taking place.
Fifty Shades Darker follows a wounded Christian Grey, who tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, but she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. Her desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he does propose a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist; they rekindle their searing sexual affair. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle them, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.
The film stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan in the two lead roles. Big-screen sex symbol Kim Basinger returns to steam up the big screen, after she generated erotic heat with films such as 9½ Weeks and other acclaimed box office hits in the late 1980s. Rumour is that Ms Basinger has been signed to also appear in the third Fifty Shades film, Fifty Shades Freed.
Fans of the bestselling novels have been waiting anxiously for the return of Christian Gray to cinemas. The latest film, which is based on the second E.L. James novel in the series, promises to expand the world of Fifty Shades with even more heated romance, intense drama and erotic adventures, set against luxurious backdrops.
The sneak pre-release screenings of Fifty Shades Darker on 8 and 9 February will take place at most Nu Metro cineplexes nationwide and will be scheduled for the evening showtimes on both days. Bookings are also open for Scene VIP cinemas at select Nu Metro cineplexes. Scene VIP is our deluxe in-cinema dining option. Apart from luxury recliner seating, lounges, bars (at selected cinemas) and enhanced upmarket facilities, a new à la carte Scene VIP food and cocktail menu has also recently been launched.
The sold-out GNO screenings of ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ will take place at all Nu Metro cineplexes nationwide on 7 February. This event starts at 19:45, with the film screening at 20:45. Apart from women being treated to the film ahead of general release, there are lots of extras to look forward to on the night as well.
Please note that access to Girls’ Night Out is to women only, but the sneak pre-release screenings that follow are open to all cinemagoers, pending the relevant age restriction for the film. The Film and Publications Board has not yet released the age restriction, but this one is certain to be at least no-under-16s, just like the first films. No complimentary, loyalty or any other form of discounted offers will be valid for any of the Fifty Shades Darker pre-release screenings.
